KAHULUI, Maui (Island News) — The National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Kahanu Garden and Preserve in Hana, Maui is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate, Kahanu Garden will be offering free public tours.

From Oct. 21-25, the public can enjoy free admission for self-guided tours. It has a diverse collection of native and Polynesian-introduced plants, and it has a heiau on property (Pi’ilanihale Heiau.)

“Discover the deep connections between plants and people that have shaped this storied landscape. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, there’s always something new to see and experience,” said editorial staffer Jon Letman.
