Mayor Michael Victorino announced a food distribution taking place Wednesday, April 29, to provide bags of food to Hana residents impacted by COVID-19.
Distribution will start at 3 p.m. at the Hana Ball Park.
About 300 bags of food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. One bag will be provided per vehicle.
Entrance into the event will be via one-way traffic coming down from Hauoli Road through Uakea Road.
“I want to extend a special mahalo to Project Ho`omana and volunteers in the Hana community for helping to coordinate this event,” Mayor Michael Victorino said. “I continue to be grateful to all the local businesses and volunteers who have supported these food distributions for our residents. Once again, I ask residents to be considerate – this food is intended to help those in our community who are struggling due to job losses and financial hardship.”
Mahalo: Project Ho`omana, VIP Foodservice, Mahi Pono, Maui Soda & Ice Works, Maui County Farm Bureau and all the volunteers.
Over 4,000 bags of food and produce have been handed out to residents in distribution events across Maui County.
