Information
Only Ono Ti Garden is a land-based pilot in Hāna, Maui, designed to counter digital isolation and rebuild local resilience
through intergenerational mentorship, practical land stewardship, and a community TimeBank.
Grounding the Next Generation in Hāna Digital fatigue and disconnected spaces have pulled youth away from hands-on skills and community elders. Ono Roots, led by Only Ono Tea Gardens LLC, provides a living alternative rooted directly in the soil of East Maui.
Core Pillars:
- Land Stewardship & Cultivation: Hands-on experience in tea garden ecology, regenerative agriculture, natural building, and animal care.
- Reciprocal TimeBank: Participants log hours maintaining the farm and earn credits redeemable for elder-led skill workshops, traditional crafts, and ocean navigation.
- Intergenerational Connection: Every major workday closes with a communal feast, establishing a consistent rhythm of shared meals and knowledge exchange between youth and kūpuna.
