DESCRIPTION:Hāna Festivals of Aloha 2026 Schedule of Events\nOur Festivals of Aloha theme\, “Ea mai ke Kai mai – Rise up from the Sea\,” supports Governor Josh Greene’s declaration that 2026 be the “Year of our Coastal Kuleana.” It is inspired by a pule hoʻōla (prayer for long life) found in June Gutmanis’s book\, Nā Pule Kahiko Ancient Hawaiian Prayers. This pule is noted to be a familial chant stemming from the family of David Malo Kupihea (1872-1952). The repeated phrase\, “Ea mai ke kai mai\,” reinforces the deeply embedded beliefs that the akua and the aliʻi\, along with the highly organized systems of kuleana-based beliefs and stewardship over which they presided\, rose up from the sea. \nSaturday\, October 17\, 2026: \nParade & Ho’olaule’a 11:00 am – closing.  \nLocal craft fair 10:00 am – 4:00 pm  \nLevitt Hāna concert 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. \nTeen Night at Hāna Bay Helene Hall 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm with teen aloha attire contest. \nSunday\, October 18\, 2026:  \nKeiki/Wahine shoreline fishing tournament 7:00 am – 12:00 pm.  \nOhana Beach Day Games 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
