HBC Receives 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status Designation

with No Comments

Renew your HBC membership and join our first special HBC meeting as an official nonprofit on Tuesday, March 29 from 4:30 to 6pm

Aloha HBC ‘Ohana!

We received our official federal IRS confirmation letter informing us of 501(c)(3) designation for the Hāna Business Council – as a hallmark to Springtime and new beginnings! See the letter below!

As earlier emailed too, our campaign to have Spectrum compensate East Maui customers for poor internet is successfully being remedied thanks to the concerted effort led by Bill Sides II and Dawn Lono with the HBC Broadband Committee. Be sure to extend your mahalos to these two when you see them – there have been many long hours of steady communication to make Spectrum aware of how this has been impacting our community.

Join us again on Tuesday, March 29 for our monthly HBC meeting!  (See ZOOM link below) We did not have the needed board member quorum at this week’s scheduled meeting so we’re are having a make-up meeting at the end of the month for all members.

Topic: HBC Monthly Board & Membership Meeting

Due to the number of COVID cases experienced in our community over the last few months we cancelled this year’s HBC Winter Social, but want to invite you to participate in the next meeting to hear updates from our Membership and HBC initiatives. We are excited to hear what you are up to this new year and to reflect on the business accomplishments in our community!

  • Interested in joining the HBC Board of Directors? We have a current interim open seat.

Hāna Business Council is a nonprofit tax-exempt IRS 501(c)(3) organization. Federal Tax ID #99-0313784.
